medium : alcohol ink on yupo
The small measure of control I have to take the inks in a certain direction, coupled with them largely exercising their own agency, makes for a complicated relationship, to say the least. A little love, a little hate. And ultimately, most richly, surrender.
The woman who bought this first painting shared it in a workshop, where she asked her attendees what they saw. The various answers only affirmed what is most powerful about the abstract realm; that we each glean what shows up for us; what we need in the moment.

These alcohol inks are the newest medium I’m playing with these days. My other dabblings have included acrylic painting on canvas, handcrafted dolls, digital art / graphic design, the odd miscellaneous craft (glass mosaics, dream catchers, etc) and video art.
