This is me. A person who always champions love, even as I embrace my singlehood. A crazy cat lady, maybe the craziest, even years after losing my special fur girl. A lover of art, and especially of renegades like Frida. And a Black woman, so very, very weary that we still have to inform the world we matter. I am all these things, and a whole lot more. Don’t peg me. Don’t stereotype me. Don’t box me in. Just see me. Just see me. If we can all do this simple thing with each other, love can reign, eccentricity can be celebrated, art can have its magnificent voice, and humanity CAN survive and be extraordinary.
